The Academic Decathlon presents the opportunity to learn new content (changes each year) as well as develop study skills and professional interpersonal skills. For example, last year’s content was the 1960s. This is a great opportunity for students to showcase their interests, skills, talents, and knowledge about topics they otherwise might not get a chance to. The chess club meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month in Mrs. Brossard's room from 3:15-4:00 pm. Come and enjoy the game of chess, either to display your skills or to learn the game. Contact: jbrossard@mishicot.k12.wi.us

The Civics Team participates in competitions focusing on American Government, how the Articles of Confederation was transformed into the Constitution. The students will study the functions and structure of the Constitution and its impact of the citizens of the United States. Students will also examine the State of Wisconsin’s Government to analyze the role of state government in the federal government system. This is a student run club that writes, directs, and produces their own events and/or shows. Events range from the 24 Hours of Theater event where students spend 24 hours writing and producing shows for a small audience with guest, expert speakers, to shows like Friday Night Live where students write comedy skits, direct and produce the show for a community audience. Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Inc. (FCCLA) is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns, including teen pregnancy, parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, environment, nutrition and fitness, teen violence and career exploration. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication—necessary in the home and workplace. Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is the largest career student business organization in the world. FBLA is the high school division of Future Business Leaders, Phi Beta Lambda is the college division.

FBLA is an organization that allows students, grades 9-12, to develop communication, leadership, networking, and critical thinking skills that can benefit any post-secondary or future career path.  

Mishicot FBLA members participate in business-focused workshops, academic competitions at the regional, state, and national levels in over 70+ business and career-related areas, along with partaking in school and community service projects throughout the academic year.

Students who are members of FFA can choose to be a part of the Mishicot FFA trap team for either Spring or Fall seasons. We shoot at Maribel Sportsmens Club on Thursdays and Sundays two rounds of 25 clays and ensure that safety and sportsmanship are followed while earning individual and team recognition in the Wisconsin Clay Target League.  Contact: jpropson@mishicot.k12.wi.us

Forensics is a communication organization sponsored by the Wisconsin High School Forensics Association (WHSFA). This organization offers opportunities for students to expand their public speaking experience and to indulge in their love of interpretive literature. Students who are interested in languages and other cultures can be a member of Global Connections. This organization is open to any student, even if they are not in a language class. Activities center around cooking authentic foods, to cultural investigations/discussions, as well as opportunities for after school field trips. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in health science education and biomedical science programs or have interests in pursuing careers in health professions. This program is available to any students interested in a career in the public safety field after high school. The Public Safety Cadets Program is a national non-profit organization dedicated to preparing young adults ages 14-21 for careers in the public safety profession. Cadets will have the opportunity to compete against other cadet programs in local, state, and national law enforcement competitions. The Mishicot Public Safety Cadet Program will also offer other opportunities such as community service activities, first aid training, and college scholarships. The primary goal of the cadets program are to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens in their community and nation. Open to anyone grades 9-12. You do not have to be in the music dept. to be involved in the musical. Practices are outside of school and follow co-curricular guidelines, but are flexible allowing you to be involved with fall sports as well. Looking for singers, actors, dancers, set builders, those who can draw and paint, as well as back stage crew, costume designers and sewers, and light and sound helpers, so there's something for everyone! If you participated in the High School musical, you are eligible to take advantage of this Fox Cities Performing Arts Center skill development (with Broadway performers) and awards program. Center Stage sends adjudicators to our annual musical performances to provide performer feedback and announces winners in several categories at the Center Stage High School Musical Awards Showcase (think the Tony Awards but for high school students). Mishicot competes 16 other schools in Wisconsin. The Center Stage program gives opportunities for students to learn from Broadway performers and producers in all areas of production (from costumes, vocals, acting, careers, dance, and technology to name a few). Students participating in Broadway touring workshops also have the opportunity to purchase PAC tickets at a discount and can also participate in several musical viewing field trips throughout the year. National Honor Society is an organization open to junior and senior students who have been invited to apply based on earning a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. Students in the organization must exemplify high standards in academics, scholarship, service and character in the school and community. POPS is an organization comprised of up-level students Sophomores to Seniors whose mission is to assist Freshmen in making their transition to high school a successful one. POPS mentors develop key interactive lessons and activities to help guide and ensure freshmen take full advantage of all the offerings within Mishicot high school. Student Government gives students a voice in determining school activities and environment. It helps promote activities for the entire student body and fosters a positive climate throughout Mishicot High School. To be eligible, a student must fill out an application for membership, and earn passing grades. Elections for Student Government officers are held each year and provide a great opportunity to develop leadership skills. Members are required to participate in several activities throughout the year to maintain membership. Being a member of Student Government is both an honor and a challenge. Members plan and organize Homecoming events, including the dance, pep rally, parade, and spirit week activities. They participate in several fund raising activities to raise money for cures, for people in need, and for Student Government. The money made throughout the year for Student Government goes toward college scholarships to senior members of the organization. Student Government also conducts blood drives and participates in Winter Spirit Week. Student Government needs hard working, creative, fun loving students who can handle responsibility.
